New Years Eve 2023 123123

I find numerology to be an interesting topic but don’t usually put much faith into it. I realize some people swear by the practice, however, I just see it as something fun that might be real but who knows, the same way reading my horoscope might strike a chord deep inside my being on that particular day if it sounds like it could almost, quite possibly, apply to me.

But today, New Years Eve and the last day of December 2023 is very interesting indeed. If one is writing today’s date in numbers with a two digit year at the end as in 12/31/23 then take away the separators… it’s a once in a lifetime date: 123123.

What does it all mean? I have no idea. Gotta admit though, it is one of those rare dates where the numbers representation of the month, day and year is a little cool, if nothing else. 123123.

So my very VERY basic understanding of numerology, one is to add up the numbers, sometimes in groups sometimes not, until a final single digit is achieved, and the meaning and significance of that final number is the all powerful answer. The fist natural way to add this up, to me, is 1+2+3+1+2+3 which equals 12. 1+2 = 3. So I go to search and check out what the number 3 signifies.

The 3 is highly original and embraces unique thinking and creative expression. This number’s artistic, curious nature allows it to convey abstract ideas.

The number 3 has always held powerful symbolism. Think about good things coming in 3s, the birth-life-death cycle, the mind-body-soul connection, the 3 acts of a typical story. Wherever the number 3 shows up in your life, it’s generally an omen of creativity, communication, optimism, and curiosity!

And then for the number 12, just in case. I mean, cause I don’t know… maybe these number meanings go all the way up to 99? I don’t know.

Number 12 in numerology is 3 (i.e., 1+2=3), which emphasizes the individual, emotions, and relationships. According to house number numerology, the number 12 includes creative thinking, clear expression, patience, open-mindedness, autonomy, independence, self-reliance, collaboration, hope, and energy.

The number 12 is strongly associated with the heavens—the 12 months, the 12 signs of the zodiac, and the 12 stations of the Moon and of the Sun. The ancients recognized 12 main northern stars and 12 main southern stars.

The other natural grouping would be 12+31+23 which equals 66. 6+6 = 12 and of course 1+2=3. All right. Back to 12 and 3 again. See? A little freaky. Dare I say, a tad bit spooky! In a good way.

The last grouping, and it’s a stretch but hell, why not, is 123+123 which equals 246. 2+4+6=12 and that’s 1+2 equals 3. AGAIN! I told you, just enough to make a person go hmmmm…

So there you have it. The significance of today’s once in a lifetime date of 123123. And since I have had a lot of non-American friends over the years, I know they write their dates in numbers with the day first, then they month and then the year. So 31/12/23 for the UK and Europeans (and maybe Australians) which gives them 311223 for today. Not quite as fun as the American version but still, kinda quirky. I’m all for the quirky.

Happy New Year! Here is to a creative, optimistic, hopeful and energetic 2024.
